LUXEMBOURG -- COLT, a leading European provider of business communications, today announced the launch of its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Access service across Europe. COLT VoIP Access provides its Major Enterprise and SME customers with the ability to converge their voice and data networks and route all telephony calls via IP networks, freeing customers from requiring traditional TDM connections to the public telephone network.

COLT’s VoIP Access service offers customers a range of benefits including a lower total cost of ownership, improved flexibility in call management and business continuity, and the ability to converge voice and data on a single access connection. By providing a more flexible and effective approach to convergence, COLT VoIP Access helps customers leverage their investment in IP PBX infrastructure and provides a flexible roadmap for unified communications.

“COLT is committed to providing our customers with flexibility, quality and choice by offering both main VoIP protocols - SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and H.323,” said Alireza Mahmoodshahi, Chief Technology Officer at COLT. “COLT VoIP Access is the gateway to convergence for our customers and is an integral part of our developing IP solutions portfolio, providing advanced telephony features and VoIP flexibility on one IP-based infrastructure, underpinned by COLT’s high quality, pan-European IP network.”
