PETALUMA, Calif. -- Teknovus, the leading provider of Gigabit Ethernet Optical Network (G-EPON) chipsets for the deployment of triple-play services in FTTx broadband access networks, announced the promotion of Dr. Rex Naden from CEO to Active Chairman, the appointment of Greg Caltabiano as President & CEO and the appointment of Mr. Ryoji Takaichi as Japan General Manager & Corporate Vice President.
Teknovus chips are being deployed by more than 25 carriers around the globe, supporting advanced broadband services including premium video such as IPTV, high-speed data, and VOIP, as well as legacy services covering cell site backhaul, leased line data and TDM voice. Teknovus’ OLT (central office) and ONU (customer premise) chips enable carriers to rapidly and cost-effectively deploy Ethernet-based FTTH networks while supporting end-to-end bandwidth management and legacy services. Announced carrier wins include KDDI, KT, Chunghwa Telecom, Beijing Netcom, Beijing Telecom, Shanghai Telecom, Wuhan Telecom, Hanaro Telecom, K.Opticom and numerous North American IOCs.
Dr. Naden has been promoted to the role of Active Chairman. He joined Teknovus in mid-2004 and helped guide the Company to its current level of carrier and OEM wins with record revenue levels. Mr. Greg Caltabiano joins Teknovus following his senior executive positions as President & COO at SOMA Networks and previously serving as General Manager of Comverse’s Asia Business Group. Mr. Takaichi’s career in Japan spans 26 years in executive positions with Cisco and NTT.
