Conexant salutes Donald Beall as he retires from the company's board of directors

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Conexant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CNXT), a worldwide leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications and the digital home, today acknowledged the contributions of Donald R. Beall upon his retirement from the company's board of directors. Beall had served as a Conexant director from the time of the company's inception.

"Don played a pivotal role in Conexant's spin-off from Rockwell International in 1999 and has been a key member of the company's board of directors since then," said Dan Artusi, Conexant president and chief executive officer. "On behalf of the company's employees and shareholders, I'd like to thank Don for his numerous contributions over many years of dedicated service. We'll miss his strategic insights and guidance, and we wish him the best moving forward."

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:MSPD), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, today announced that Donald R. Beall has retired from the company's board of directors. Beall has been a Mindspeed director since the company spun off from Conexant Systems, Inc., in June 2003.

"Don has been an invaluable counselor to me personally and to the Mindspeed executive team throughout his tenure on our board," said Raouf Y. Halim, chief executive officer of Mindspeed. "He has provided strategic guidance and wisdom to help reshape our company for success in the years ahead. I thank him for his many years of service."

Beall is the retired chairman and chief executive officer of Rockwell International Corporation. He serves on various University of California, Irvine, supporting organizations and is an overseer of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He is also a trustee of the Navy Post Graduate School and on the President's Council of the National Academy of Science and Engineering. He is the chairman of the Beall Family Foundation and an advisor, director, and investor in numerous private companies.

"Since my retirement from Rockwell International in 1998, a major goal has been to help support the newly independent companies spun out of Rockwell," said Beall. "I resigned board positions with several other established companies in order to focus on serving the boards of Rockwell Automation, Rockwell Collins, Arvin Meritor, Conexant Systems, Jazz Semiconductor, Skyworks Solutions and Mindspeed. Mindspeed has a terrific management team and board and it is time in my life to narrow my corporate commitments. I have greatly enjoyed working with the Mindspeed management team and wish the company well," Beall added.
