Edward Snowden's revelations about the antics of the National Security Agency and the UK's GCHQ have had ramifications across the whole of the communications sector, including mobile operators.
In a video interview now available on Light Reading, Heavy Reading senior analyst Patrick Donegan says that mobile operators are experiencing something of a "negative impact" in terms of data service usage following the Snowden revelations. As a result, service providers are now focused on the different ways in which they can protect their customers' privacy and communicating their customer privacy strategies.
Donegan also talks about the different network security challenges operators are facing as they build out their all-IP 4G LTE networks.
See what Donegan has to say about these issues by watching Mobile Security: The Snowden Fallout.
Mobile security expert Donegan will be hosting a breakfast briefing on these and other security-related matters during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Wednesday, February 26. Mobile operator executives can sign up to attend Creating Trust in the Mobile Network by clicking on Creating Trust in the Mobile Networkthis link. Those attending the breakfast then have the option of boarding a special breakfast briefing bus (oh yes!) that will take them to the Mobile World Congress showgrounds.
