Check Point Software unveils its Web Intelligence technology and Connectra and SSL Network Extender Web security gateway solutions

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today delivered the Web component of the previously announced Perimeter, Internal and Web Security strategy. In November 2003, the company unveiled a roadmap for providing intelligent Perimeter, Internal and Web Security solutions to address customers' dynamic and evolving Internet security challenges. Today's announcement unveils the company's revolutionary new Web Intelligence™ technology and new Web security gateway solutions Connectra™ and SSL Network Extender™.

Web Intelligence provides Web application firewall technology for Check Point products, enabling fully-integrated application-level protection to Web servers and back-end systems. Check Point gateways, such as VPN-1® and Connectra™, are now equipped with Web Intelligence technology in addition to Stateful Inspection and Application Intelligence™. Web Intelligence provides an additional layer of defenses for the network, operating systems, Web servers and back-end systems.

Web Intelligence technology provides protection for the entire Web environment with the following features:

  • Malicious Code Protector™ - Innovative patent-pending technology that catches buffer overflow attacks and other malicious code, enabling the highest level of security protection for customers by monitoring Web communications for potential malicious executable code.

  • Advanced Streaming Inspection - Allows complex inspections and stream manipulation to be done in the kernel to create the industry's fastest application-level security processing, dramatically improving throughput and connection rates.

  • Simple Deployment and Management - Built to be quickly deployed to protect Web servers without complex tuning and configuration, as well as granular policy management with a flexible and easy-to-use graphical user interface.
