SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- PrairieWave announced today the launch of Video On Demand (VOD) in its 32 service communities. Starting immediately, PrairieWave digital cable customers can enjoy VOD programming with their current digital set-top boxes.

Video On Demand is the newest in television viewing technology. VOD allows a subscriber to instantly order movies, special programs, and network shows with a simple click on their remote control. Subscribers never wait for a show to start. Plus, they can play it, pause it, fast forward, rewind, and most of the time, watch it over and over again for 24 hours—just like a VCR. PrairieWave’s VOD also features Free On Demand (FOD) programming at no additional charge as a part of digital cable service. FOD includes programming from HGTV, The Food Network, Fine Living, Do It Yourself Network, and more.

“In line with our mission, VOD represents yet another way we are enhancing the quality of life for our customers in their homes and communities,” said Craig A. Anderson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PrairieWave. “Our digital cable customers and now order the latest movies and watch them when and how they want. Combining Video On Demand programming with our newly released HDTV service provides an entertainment experience that is unparalleled.”
