Wi-Fi Alliance Gets New Boss

The Wi-Fi Alliance names Frank Hanzlik, most recently VP of marketing and product management at Mobilian, as its managing director

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- The Wi-Fi Alliance announced today that Frank Hanzlik has joined the organization as its Managing Director. This new position reports to the Wi-Fi Alliance Board of Directors and is responsible for managing the global operations, growth, and outreach of the organization. Hanzlik, most recently Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Mobilian, has previously held senior management positions at Dell and Motorola.

"Wi-Fi CERTIFIED(tm) wireless LANs have experienced incredible growth since the first products were certified in March of 2000," said Dennis Eaton, Chairman of the Wi-Fi Alliance. "Although much has been accomplished to date, the number of Alliance initiatives continues to increase. To address this, the Alliance Board of Directors recognized that it would need additional senior management leadership."

"After an extensive search for qualified candidates, we are very pleased to announce that Frank Hanzlik has joined the Wi-Fi Alliance as its first Managing Director. Frank brings a broad range of wireless and high technology product and service experience that will further enhance the Alliance's position in the industry.
