Sycamore Networks names Paul F. Brauneis chief financial officer

CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- Sycamore Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCMR), a leader in intelligent bandwidth management solutions for fixed line and mobile network operators worldwide, today announced that Paul F. Brauneis has been appointed chief financial officer, vice president of finance and administration, and treasurer. In his role, Brauneis will have responsibility for all of the Company's finance, administration, legal, human resources, IT, and facility operations. He assumes his position on November 12, 2007.

Brauneis brings to Sycamore over 25 years of broad-based financial management experience in the communications, IT, and Internet solutions sectors. His extensive background includes key roles in a number of merger and acquisition transactions ranging in size and complexity.

Prior to joining Sycamore, Brauneis served as executive vice president of finance and administration, chief financial officer, and treasurer at Cantata Technology, which was recently acquired by Dialogic Corporation. Prior to his role at Cantata, Brauneis served as senior vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer for Avici Systems.
