Optical Switch Gets $58 M

Investment is a first for ADC Ventures

RICHARDSON, TX-- Optical Switch Corporation, an optical switch components provider located in the Richardson Telecom Corridor, announced today that it has received $58 million from a strategic investor and top financial institutions.

Investors include ADC Ventures, JT Venture Partners, LLC, KMF Partners, L.P., Petros Capital L.L.C., Putnam Investment Management, Inc., Tudor Investment Corporation, and Wellington Management Company, LLP. All previous rounds have been funded primarily by affiliates of William K. Woodruff, III, who, in 1994, raised the initial $3.25 million in seed capital for Ciena Corporation.
