SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Xilinx, Inc. (Nasdaq: XLNX) today announced the resignation of senior vice president Dennis L. Segers. Segers also withdrew his name as a candidate for re-election to the Company's Board of Directors at today's annual stockholder meeting. Segers plans to join a non-competitive Silicon Valley start-up company as chief executive officer following his scheduled departure from Xilinx in September 2001. Segers, 48, was appointed to the Xilinx Board of Directors in April 2000 and is credited with leading the development of the most successful line of programmable logic devices in the history of the industry, the Xilinx(R) Virtex(R) series of high performance FPGAs.
