Versatel Deutschland uses Marconi's multiserve access node to support its rollout of broadband services
January 21, 2004
LONDON -- Marconi Corporation plc (London: MONI; Nasdaq: MRCIY) today announced that it has been chosen by Versatel Deutschland, the German voice and data network operator, to supply its Access Hub Multi Service Access Node (MSAN) platform to support its rollout of broadband access services to private customers.
Marconi is supplying its AXH600 and AXH2500 platforms, alongside its Distributed Multiservice Platform (DMP). The combined technology platforms will enable Versatel to offer a range of flexible broadband access services, including ISDN and xDSL, which can be adapted easily to the requirements of each customer.
The new network elements will be managed by Marconi's ServiceOn Access network management system, which is already installed within Versatel's existing network.
