Litestream Deploys Taqua OCX

RICHARDSON, Texas -- Taqua, Inc., the leading provider of next-generation Class 5 switching, today announced that its OCX has been chosen to provide enhanced, revenue-generating services to residential customers of Tampa, Florida-based Litestream Technologies, a joint partnership with TECO Partners, a division of TECO Energy (NYSE:TE). Litestream provides Cable TV, Internet and telephony over Fiber to the Home connection services to residents of new, upscale housing developments in Florida. Services offered by Litestream to residents of these developments include local and long distance phone service, video, including analog, digital and pay-per-view, High-speed Internet, (Ethernet based) voice mail, alarm monitoring, neighborhood intranet and e-commerce - all on one monthly billing statement. "Taqua's OCX is the ideal Class 5 switching solution for Litestream. We house the OCX in one quarter of one rack in a small 10' x 30' building in St. Augustine, which serves as a full-blown central office for our residential customers," said John Reinke, director of telecommunications engineering, Litestream Technologies.
