Verizon grabs more southern assets
1 Min Read
4:45 PM -- Seems like we can't through a week without a major U.S. carrier buying in more local assets.
This week its Verizon Wireless , which has bought the assets of Ramcell -- including spectrum licenses -- in Kentucky and Oregon.
There's no word on the price, but it's pretty interesting that it now seems to be more cost-effective for major carriers to buy out their tiny rivals rather than do a buildout alone. Verizon is even going to deploy EV-DO in these markets now.
Makes you wonder whether there will be any small carriers left standing within a couple of years time.
