(Nasdaq: EXTR) today announced that SK Telecom, the wireless communications leader of Korea, has selected its networking solutions. SK Telecom is offering CDMA2000 1x services, which can carry data rates as high as 144Kbps to wireless devices including cellular phones, in 23 cities including Seoul, Inchoen, Busan, and Daegu, and has plans to expand the service in more than 79 cities across the country. The Company has established high performance Ethernet switching within its backbone networks with Extreme Networks' core solution, the BlackDiamond(R) modular switch, and has implemented both the Alpine(TM) and Summit(R) switching systems to establish wider adoption of various wireless services. Extreme Networks' Ethernet switching solutions provide competitive advantages allowing SK Telecom to scale their network while maintaining a consistent and simplified management platform.
