NEW YORK -- In a move to extend its competitive edge in European markets, Orange Communications has contracted Antepo to deliver an Orange-branded Instant Messaging experience to its customers. "Instant Messaging is a key initiative within Orange", Andreas Waber, Director of Products and Services at Orange Communications, says. "Antepo's ACCEPT(TM) has the perfect match with our expectations: a solution compliant with group requirements, while capable of integrating with our local legacy systems." Once launched, the Orange Messenger service will enable Orange customers to conduct real-time, presence-aware interactions via SMS, WAP, J2ME(TM), and PocketPC(R), Web and Desktop. ACCEPT(TM), the underlying platform for the service, will leverage XMPP (eXtensible Messaging and Presence Protocol) technology, the most open and widespread Instant Messaging and Presence protocol worldwide, commonly referred to as "Jabber". "Orange's choice marks a key achievement for Antepo and further consolidates our leadership in the marketplace. " Maxime Seguineau, Chairman and CEO of Antepo, says. "It establishes our ability to provide carrier-grade messaging solutions that meet demanding requirements for both quality and close integration with key resources such as web services, user directories, location, provisioning, billing and monitoring. We take pride in the confidence put into this project by Orange." Antepo Inc. Orange Communications SA
