Egyptian operator reports 27% increase in revenues to EGP1.78B and 28% increase in net income to EGP397M

CAIRO, Egypt -- The Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (Mobinil) announced its first quarter consolidated results. The reported figures reflect the following results:

  • 10.669 million subscribers reflecting an increase of 53% over the same period last year.

  • Net active additions for the first quarter 2007 reached 1.402 million subscribers.

  • Net revenues reached 1,775MEGP achieving an increase of 27% over same period last year.

  • EBITDA increased by 21% over the same period last year to reach 851MEGP reflecting an EBITDA margin of 48.0%.

  • Net income increased by 28% over the same period last year to reach 397MEGP.



Accordingly, Mobinil remains confident that it will continue to play a key role in shaping the future needs for mobile services in the Egyptian market despite the impact of increasing regulatory and competitive changes.
