Critical Links and Digivoice announce strategic technology partnership to integrate Digivoice's interface cards with the edgeBOX
December 14, 2006
SAO PAULO -- Critical Links, an international networking company, and Digivoice, a leading Brazilian PSTN interface cards vendor, announced a technology partnership to integrate Digivoice interface cards with the edgeBOX, an "all in one" networking device providing complete converged (VoIP) voice and data network services, targeted at SMB's and branch offices.
edgeBOX provides an affordable, secure and QoS assured platform for VoIP deployment in small and medium sized businesses. It includes a feature rich IP-PBX based on Asterisk and a VoIP gateway that supports various analogue and digital PSTN interface cards.
Digivoice has recently launched a new range of Asterisk-compatible interface cards, enabling companies to build an IP-PABX system with integrated voice mail, IVR, and call waiting, among other functionalities. DigiVoice interface cards offer native support for E1 R2, and ISDN signaling protocols. These are extensively used in emerging markets and were only (inefficiently) supported in Asterisk through software up to now.
According to Carlos Smetana, DigiVoice Sales Director, "our partnership with Critical Links brings to the global market a hardware/software innovative IT & Telecom solution. The edgeBOX and DigiVoice integration brings to the PABX market, a breakthrough concept for a low-cost product delivering an integrated solution for voice, data and VoIP for SMB's, delivering reduced communications costs."
