LightLogic Launches DragonFly

NEWARK, Calif. -- LightLogic, Inc. announced today that it has launched and begun shipping DragonFly TranspondersTM, LightLogic’s second-generation family of 10 Gb/s optical-electrical sub-systems that simplify the design of high-speed network equipment. The new transponders incorporate low cost optics manufactured with LightLogic’s proprietary, automated packaging and alignment process, and several advanced electrical features. DragonFly Transponders will be demonstrated at the Optical Fiber Convention (OFC) in Anaheim, California March 19-21, interoperating with LightLogic’s cutting-edge 200-pin transponder prototype.

“New features, improved performance and better manufacturability seen in the DragonFly Transponders result from direction we received delivering our first generation product to a broad customer base,” said John McGraw, CEO of LightLogic. “In addition, bringing our automated optics manufacturing plant online will yield tremendous cost and capacity advantages.”
