NEWARK, Calif. -- LIGHTCONNECT, a leading global supplier of dynamic components and modules for optical networks, has expanded its reach across North America. The company has opened an office in Maryland to handle sales in the eastern U.S. and Canada, and has signed new partnership agreements with select U.S. representative firms. To drive the initiative, LIGHTCONNECT has appointed Sunil Raina as sales director. Raina has twelve years of experience in international sales, marketing and product management and has held senior sales management positions at both fiber-optic component and sub-system level companies. LIGHTCONNECT will be represented by Kruvand in the southern U.S. (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana), Optimark in the northeastern U.S. (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Connecticut) and SACS in the southeastern U.S. (Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Mississippi and Tennessee). "The decision to open a sales office specifically for the East Coast and Canada was in response to the broad acceptance of our technology, along with quarter-to-quarter increases in sales to major system vendors," said Peter Clark, President and CEO of LIGHTCONNECT. "Additionally, solid regional support in key areas of demand is crucial to our expansion efforts. Kruvand, Optimark and SACS are the leading representatives in their geographic areas, so they are our ideal partners in those markets. The companies have a strong customer base, which includes OEMs, CMs and start-up companies, making them an important component of our long term strategy." LightConnect Inc.
