NEW YORK – Light Reading, the premier information resource for news and analysis of next-generation networks, today debuted LRTV, the world's only broadcast-quality broadband video channel covering the communications industry.

Like all of Light Reading's telecom industry coverage, LRTV's top-notch programming is available free to the more than 400,000 monthly visitors to the Light Reading network of Websites. But its reach doesn't stop there: Light Reading will also syndicate its telecom industry coverage to national and international broadcasters to reach as wide an audience as possible.

"With LRTV, the medium really is the message," says Light Reading's president and CEO, Steve Saunders. "We are the leading publication tracking the development and deployment of video technology on public networks, so our site is the perfect platform to debut a broadcast-quality video channel. This content represents what a critical mass of people will be creating and distributing, once we see the arrival of next-generation communications networks."

LRTV programming will adhere to the same entertaining, authoritative, independent editorial formula that has differentiated Light Reading from its competitors for the past five years. Its content will include ongoing news analysis, features, entertainment, and special reports from leading industry events, including Supercomm.

All of LRTV's programs will feature Light Reading's global network of reporters and analysts. LRTV will also work to develop specialized content in a collaborative process with our sponsors – the same process that has proven to be such a huge success at Light Reading's Live! events.

In a related development, the organizers of Supercomm today announced that Light Reading will be the exclusive broadband video provider of Supercomm 2005 (June 6-9). As part of its comprehensive coverage of Supercomm, Light Reading will broadcast its new broadband video channel on-site at the show, and the content will be available on Supercomm's Website, www.supercomm2005.com.
