Intel promotes three corporate VP and elects four new ones; also names new corporate secretary

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Intel Corporation today announced that its board of directors has promoted three corporate vice presidents -- Robert Baker, Patrick Gelsinger and Patricia Murray -- and elected four new corporate vice presidents: Leslie Culbertson, Brian Harrison, William Holt and William Swope. In addition, Cary Klafter has been elected by the Intel board of directors to serve as corporate secretary. The company also announced the retirement of Kirby Dyess, vice president and director of Intel Capital Operations, and an Intel employee since 1979. Baker, 47, was promoted to senior vice president. He is general manager of the Technology and Manufacturing Group and shares responsibility with Sunlin Chou for managing Intel's technology development and manufacturing activities. Baker was elected corporate vice president in 1999 and joined Intel in 1979. Gelsinger, 41, was promoted to senior vice president. He is chief technology officer and is responsible for Intel's overall technology and research direction for the company's computing and communication products and technologies. Gelsinger was elected corporate vice president in 1996 and joined Intel in 1979. Murray, 50, was promoted to senior vice president. She is director of human resources and is responsible for ensuring the company hires, develops and retains the industry's best employees globally. Murray was elected corporate vice president in 1998 and joined Intel in 1990. Culbertson, 53, was elected corporate vice president. She is director of corporate finance and is responsible for Intel's corporate finance, tax, licensing and customs, and all operational finance and accounting control functions. Culbertson joined Intel in 1979. Harrison, 45, was elected corporate vice president. He is co-general manager of fab/sort manufacturing and is responsible for Intel's fabs worldwide. Harrison joined Intel in 1984. Holt, 50, was elected corporate vice president. He is director of logic technology development and is responsible for technology planning and development for Intel's leading generations of manufacturing processes. Holt joined Intel in 1974. Swope, 56, was elected corporate vice president. He is general manager of the Software and Solutions Group and manages the software development, tools and services that support deployment of Intel microarchitectures and corresponding systems. Swope joined Intel in 1979. Klafter, 54, was elected corporate secretary. He is vice president of legal and government affairs and director of corporate affairs. Klafter joined Intel in 1996.
