CHICAGO -- IMC Networks, a leading manufacturer of optical access solutions for the LAN, MAN and beyond, today announced the addition of a Gigabit Ethernet version to its FiberLinX™ system that enables CATV, MSO, telecommunications and Metro Ethernet operators to deliver high-speed Internet, Transparent LAN and Ethernet Private Line services to business customers by using the existing fiber optic infrastructure. The previous 10 Mbps and 10/100 Mbps FiberLinX solutions have been deployed in FTTP applications worldwide since 1999. Gigabit FiberLinX and IMC Networks’ other optical access solutions are featured in the company’s booth 10907 at SUPERCOMM, June 22-24.

The new Gigabit FiberLinX system offers carrier-grade operations, administration and management capabilities not found on other Ethernet-based solutions. For example, FiberLinX features end-to-end management of the entire access network via Simple Network Management Protocol. From a central location, network operators are able to receive real-time device and traffic statistics on the remote CPE, allocate bandwidth, turn services on or off, initiate loopback testing, change customer VLAN settings and adjust QoS policies assigned to different traffic types.

“Our carrier customers worldwide are meeting an increasing demand for different types of Optical Ethernet services. With the introduction of the Gigabit FiberLinX, service providers are able to quickly provide bandwidth-scalable services from 1Mbps to Gigabit line speeds”, said Jerry Roby, Chairman and CEO of IMC Networks. “The advanced features, remote management, and the low cost of our Optical Ethernet solutions provide our customers with a quick return on investment that is unparalleled in the industry today”, continued Roby.
