GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- BroadSoft, Inc., the worldwide leader of VoIP applications to the telecommunications industry, announced the expansion of its Belfast operations to support the company's growth in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

BroadSoft has worked with large carriers in Europe since 2002, and opened its European Headquarters at Northern Ireland Science Park (NISP) in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 2006. Due to rapid growth, BroadSoft has more than doubled its space requirement in the past three years. BroadSoft's BroadWorks VoIP application platform is currently deployed by more than 100 service providers in the European market, including Telefonica, T-Systems, TDC, Slovak Telecom, Belgacom and KPN, and in more IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks worldwide than any other application server.

Welcoming BroadSoft's expansion onsite, NISP Chairman Frank Hewitt said, "Our flexible, agile workspace solutions and open-access connectivity supports the needs of companies across a wide range of sectors. NISP blends the very best infrastructure with business support mechanisms to promote growth among tenant companies. During its time here, BroadSoft has expanded significantly, and we want to see them continue to grow with us. We are pleased to offer the capacity that matches BroadSoft's growing customer support requirements."

"Quality and customer service are important tenets at BroadSoft. Industry analyst firm Infonetics Research recently announced the results of an IMS service provider survey that names BroadSoft the top vendor for service and customer support," said Geoffrey K. Hicks, vice president of operations at BroadSoft. "The expansion of BroadSoft's Belfast operations not only further establishes our strong presence in EMEA, but also ensures our customers continue to receive world class, real-time technical support and professional services from our Belfast Operations Center."
