SilverBack Names Bizdev VP

SilverBack Technologies appoints Eli Kalil, former VP of sales channels and alliances at RSA Security, as VP of business development

BILLERICA, Mass. -- SilverBack Technologies, Inc., the industry's leading provider of integrated network, system, application and security monitoring software for the mid-tier market, today announced that it has named Eli Kalil vice president of business development.

Kalil brings to the company more than 26 years of experience in cultivating strategic business, channel, and technology partnerships. Reporting directly to SilverBack Chairman and CEO Dan Phillips, Kalil will be responsible for global business development and will leverage new and innovative SilverBack technology in the areas of security and portable audit assessment to garner strategic relationships with service providers, systems integrators, VARs and OEM partners.

“More and more we’re seeing network and security management merging, and the need for a single solution to proactively monitor the health of both environments is becoming critical for both our partners, and their customers,” Phillips said. “Eli’s extensive experience in the security management market will enable us to build strategic business partnerships while increasing market share for our industry-leading software. Prior to joining SilverBack, Kalil was vice president of sales channels and alliances at RSA Security. As head of RSA’s channel and alliance partner relations, he was responsible for VAR and systems integrator relationships and the creation of a two-tier distribution channel, which resulted in $100 million in revenues in 2002.

Before joining RSA, Kalil held senior sales and marketing positions at IBM, PictureTel which was acquired by Polycom, and CLARiiON, now part of EMC Corporation. Throughout his career, Kalil has been responsible for the development of domestic and international channel sales and marketing strategies and programs.

Mr. Kalil has a Bachelor of Science degree from New Hampshire University and speaks frequently on sales and marketing strategies for mid-sized businesses at industry and trade organizations and conferences.
