PARIS -- Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced that Isocore, the leader in validation and interoperability of emerging and next generation technologies, has confirmed that Alcatel-Lucent’s service router portfolio can address the most demanding requirements of service providers for the delivery of a variety of sophisticated services simultaneously, in great volume. Results certify that when deployed as a Multi Service Edge (MSE) for the delivery of advanced business networking services, that the Alcatel-Lucent’s offering is highly efficient, massively scalable and highly reliable. It also confirms that it meets and exceeds next-generation MSE requirements for any service provider network today.

Isocore’s independent tests replicated a real-world mixed services environment for all layer two (L2) and layer three (L3) business networking services such as Carrier Ethernet VPN services and IP VPNs, rather than contriving a theoretical projection. All tests were conducted multiple times with tens of thousands of services terminating hundreds of thousands of service end points.

“The magnitude of the combined scale of MPLS-based IP-VPN, VPLS and VLL services with added application assurance to deployed services is impressive and unique,” said Rajiv Papneja, Director of Technology Validation at Isocore, commenting on the test results. “This confirms the network design and operational readiness of Alcatel-Lucent solution to deliver highly scalable, resilient and high-performance real-world multiservice networks.”
