Caspian's Closed

11:50 AM -- Caspian Networks Inc. has shut down, according to two sources close to the company.

We'll have a story with all the details soon. The company employed fewer than 100 people and soaked up more than $300 million in funding during its lifetime.

re: Caspian's Closed You're kidding. I'd say the news story here is that they were still open.

re: Caspian's Closed That's harsh.

But they're not still open, so whatever.

re: Caspian's Closed Another victim to the business principle I learned the hard way. Don't try to displace incumbents when the market has matured. The operational costs are too high and the risks to great for the operational managers to take on something new. Caspian's scalable switch-routers were ahead of Cisco's CSR for about 2 years, but that didn't help.
