LAS VEGAS -- Ixia (Nasdaq: XXIA), Booth # 5597, a leading provider of high-speed, multiport network performance analysis systems, announced today that it is entering into the enterprise application testing space with the release of its Real World Traffic Suite for the Enterprise. The Real World Traffic Suite brings together the best of Ixia hardware and software solutions and third-party solutions to create the world's first combined software application and line-speed network testing platform. "Applications don't run in a vacuum; they run on networks. And it is becoming increasingly apparent that network performance plays a crucial role in an application's success or failure once deployed," said Dave Anderson, vice president of worldwide sales and business development for Ixia. "IT managers need to test the application on an emulated operational network prior to deployment." According to Anderson, increased load can come from many sources, some of them from the network elements themselves and others from existing deployed applications. The only way to truly test how an application-such as SAP or Oracle-will work under those scenarios is to create thousands of virtual clients as well as virtual routers, load the network with representative traffic and measure both the network and application performance at the same time. "Any company that simultaneously provides the big picture of what a network and an application do during testing is on the right track and is going to be successful," said George Hamilton, Senior Analyst for The Yankee Group. "Ixia is doing that with its new enterprise solution." Ixia
