GERMANTOWN, Md. -- NexTone™ Communications, the leading provider of session controller technologies for secure peering of packet networks, today announced its partnership with Free World Dialup (FWD), the leading provider in voice over internet protocol(VoIP) service. Free World Dialup is using NexTone’s industry leading Multiprotocol Signaling Switch (MSW) to allow peer-to-peer Internet telephony network for broadband users.

NexTone’s Multiprotocol Signaling Switch (MSW) is a core session controller that gives the Free World Dialup network unparalleled call routing, signaling interworking, and call control capabilities. The NexTone MSW enables Free World Dialup to abstract call routing and othercall control policies from the call signaling regardless of their choiceof signaling protocol (H.323 or SIP) or endpoint type. This robust solution allows Free World Dialup to efficiently route and control callsamong its 85,000 subscribers in more than 180 countries without modifying the network infrastructure. As a result the SIP-based Free World Dialup network is now available to a much larger user population.

“The advanced technology within the NexTone core session controller makes call routing simple and independent of the protocol used by the subscribers. NexTone’s technical expertise and support during our firstyear of service and their willingness to quickly adapt to support endpoints in the existing Free World Dialup infrastructure has been indispensable to our partnership.” said Jeff Pulver, founder of Free World Dialup and CEO of pulver.com.
