SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR - News) today announced that it is furthering its commitment to global environmental initiatives by achieving compliance with China's new environmental regulation, scheduled to take effect March 1, 2007. The China RoHS is a global electronics mandate promoting environmentally-friendly identification and treatment of Electronic Information Products (EIP).

Extreme Networks® complete portfolio of networking solutions, including its award-winning BlackDiamond® and Summit® Ethernet switching platforms, manufactured on or after March 1, 2007, will be compliant with the China RoHS legislation, as issued by the Chinese Ministry of Information Industry (MII).

"Our compliance with China RoHS further signifies our ongoing commitment to the global environment and our customers."

China's RoHS regulation requires the labeling of Electronic Information Products with a China-compliant graphic and date of manufacture, declaring and documenting the hazardous material content of our products for six specific chemicals, and the labeling of outer packaging with appropriate recycling symbols.
