FOLSOM, Calif. -- Dorado Software, Inc., provider of network infrastructure software, today announced the availability of Redcell Registrar, an automated subscriber management system designed for organizations challenged by the tedious and time-consuming task of IP address allocation and management. Redcell Registrar simplifies IP address management and lowers operating costs by providing a central console from which any network operator can characterize and manage host and user access into the network. Redcell Registrar gives network operators more control over mission critical services by providing an easy and effective way to dynamically control and manage user authentication and authorization services and IP address allocation for millions of users of DHCP-enabled devices, such as VoIP phones, IP-enabled mobile phones, PDAs, and Internet appliances. Using an embedded DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server, Registrar network resources via authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) services, for remote access and mobile IP users, allowing for dynamic quality of service (QoS) provisioning for each network subscriber. Each user can be registered and historically tracked for accounting purposes. Registrar centralizes the activity of user connections for efficient management and definition of static and dynamic hosts for flexible network control. "As the user populations and the complexity and number of network devices increase, network operators and administrators are faced with the significant challenge of effectively managing access to critical network resources while maintaining an acceptable "quality of service" level on the network", said Jerry McDowell, vice president Product Management at Dorado Software. "Dorado's Redcell Registrar enables the automation of an otherwise tedious process, control and management of all aspects of user access to valuable network resources, while incorporating device management that drives network behavior for dynamic personalization of network services."
