ATLANTA -- EurotaxGlass, Europe's leading provider of automotive information based near in Zurich, Switzerland, has ensured its network continuity by signing a contract with Equant (NYSE: ENT) (Euronext Paris: EQU), an industry leader in IP and data services to multinational businesses. EurotaxGlass provides high quality information services to the automotive industry as well as data on all motor vehicles, such as used car values. "Our business relies on a fully functioning network," said Simon Kendall, CTO EurotaxGlass. "Equant was able to move very swiftly to agree to contract details to ensure our business operations were not affected due to any loss of network performance." "Equant offers safe harbor to customers whose business operations are threatened by the turbulence in the telecommunications market," said Michel Picaud, Equant's head of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. "We offer a reliable, robust and secure network that can bring on new customers quickly and safely. Equant's conservative fiscal practices, financial stability and lack of debt have allowed us to focus on customer needs while other carriers are collapsing." Equant has no exposure to a complete shutdown of KPNQwest and has recently added the equivalent of 75,000 kilometers of STM-1s - Synchronous Transfer Module cables carrying data at 155 Mbps each - for back-up capacity that will permit it to reroute any customer traffic affected by such a network shutdown in Europe.
