HONG KONG -- HKT, Hong Kong's premier telecommunications service provider, has been awarded a multi-million US dollar contract by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) to supply, implement and maintain the network equipment and structured cabling at HKEx’s newly built Next Generation Data Center (NGDC) at Tseung Kwan O.
Scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2012, the NGDC will be equipped with top-notch facilities and infrastructure to ensure both speed and data integrity. These new, all-proven and future-proof technologies have met the stringent requirements and performed well in a complex “proof-of-concept” solution assessment.
Mr. Tom Chan, HKT’s Managing Director of Commercial Group, said, “It is our privilege to be part of HKEx’s NGDC project, which has profound effect on strengthening Hong Kong’s international financial center status. This new project extends our cooperation with HKEx following our past project delivery and services such as SDNet 1.0 and the more recent SDNet 2.0 upgrade.”
