Corning to sue Highwave?

French company responds to possible patent lawsuit allegedly being considerd by Corning

Based on reports published in the press, HighWave Optical Technologies (Paris Nouveau Marche: 7639) has learned that Corning is considering initiating a patent infringement suit against it. HighWave Optical cannot comment until it has more details. The Company declares that it will take all the necessary actions to resolve the matter. HighWave Optical would like to point out that according to the information made public by Corning, HighWave Optical has sold no products using the technology in question in the United States market and the action would have no impact on HighWave Optical's business.

HighWave Optical Technologies was founded in 1998 by two physicists with 10 years' experience in designing and developing optical components at the France Telecom research center Centre National des Etudes de Telecommunications (CNET). Since its creation, HighWave Optical Technologies has given its Intellectual Property a strategic role by building an extensive patent portfolio that currently consists of more than 150 patents worldwide.
