Loftus Launches Leased DSL

LONDON -- Loftus ITNS – a division of the IT Techcare Group, an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) consulting and services group of companies, is launching a state of the art Leased DSL (LDSL)* solution to offer SME and corporate customers the most cost effective and resilient WAN solution available on the market. LeasedDSL for Business is based upon BT’s IP Stream. This fully managed WAN solution replaces ISDN and expensive leased lines, thereby enabling Loftus ITNS to pass on savings of up to 50 per cent on a company’s telecoms solutions.

The service is targeted at two types of customers. Firstly, it provides a secure, easy to manage and affordable outsourced private WAN solution for SMEs. In this instance, Loftus ITNS hosts the company’s network, but is also able to offer additional support services including storage management, centralised e-mail and web access. For corporate customers with a greater number of sites, Loftus ITNS will resell a complete Leased DSL service to provide a Private Network. In both cases, security is assured because data is tunnelled across BT’s private DSL Network, as opposed to routing it over the Internet as part of a traditional Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution. And for complete resilience, separate DSL and ISDN routers can be installed and configured at each remote location.

LeasedDSL for Business is a managed, cost-effective WAN solution for businesses supporting multiple UK sites or offices. It has been developed through Powernet, in conjunction with BT and Cisco Systems, and utilises the BT Broadband IP network. It offers a private and secure UK infrastructure via DSL to broadband-enabled sites and locations. Data is securely delivered directly into a central site or data centre via a 2Mbit, 10Mbit or 34Mbit fibre bearer. The service comes with a high level SLA across all services provisioned within the solution.
