TeliaSonera awards contract to Ericsson for Ethernet over DSL broadband equipment and services

Ericsson and TeliaSonera have signed a contract for the delivery of Ericsson's Ethernet DSL Broadband Access equipment and related services.
According to the contract, TeliaSonera will introduce Gigabit Ethernet technology into their DSL network.
"Based on the new, innovative Ethernet DSL Broadband Access solution from Ericsson, we will be able to improve our customer offerings", says Lars-Gunnar Johansson, Head of Network & Technology at TeliaSonera.
"It is a pleasure to have been selected as a new partner to TeliaSonera for volume roll-out of their high performance broadband access network. In order to meet TeliaSonera's requirements, we are introducing a broad range of product/technology innovations for Gigabit Ethernet that will reinforce the leading position of Ericsson's Ethernet DSL Access solution in the market", says Karl Thedéen, Key Account Manager for TeliaSonera at Ericsson.
The contract includes delivery of Ericsson's Ethernet DSL Access solution, based on the ADSL2/2+ standard and Gigabit Ethernet technology. The Ethernet DSL Access solution enables delivery of demanding Broadband services and secures a cost efficient Broadband deployment. This unique solution will give TeliaSonera a competitive edge and reinforce their market leading position in the Nordic and Baltic region.
