Telia's Skanova Networks awards multimillion dollar contract to Incatel to automate service provisioning
June 21, 2002
LONDON -- Incatel, a leading supplier of network and service inventory solutions for end-to-end provisioning, has signed a multi-million dollar contract with Skanova Networks, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telia AB and Scandinavian's largest network operator, to supply software to automate the delivery of telecom services. Incatel's NIMS will become a cornerstone of Skanova's Operational Support Systems (OSS) which Skanova will be relying on as it implements its strategy to become the preferred supplier of wholesale telecom services in Sweden. Incatel's NIMS is a state-of-the-art and proven inventory and provisioning solution that offers an end-to-end network view that encompasses assets both physical (such as equipment and cables) and logical (circuits and services). "Having thoroughly evaluated the OSS solutions from different vendors, we came to the conclusion that Incatel's NIMS offered the best combination of functionality, flexibility and scalability," said Mr Ove Alm, CTO & Market Director of Skanova. Mr Ove Alm added: "Obviously, with a network of the size and complexity of ours, we needed a solution that would scale and be able to cope with projected peaks of service provisioning requests."
