RESTON, Va. -- Spirent Federal, a leading provider of integrated performance analysis and service assurance systems for next-generation network technologies to the U.S. Government, today announced an alliance with v6 Transition, a training and services division of Innofone.com, Inc. (OTC:INFN - News), to establish the world's foremost IPv6 test center in Northern Virginia.
The IPv6 Test Center will provide U.S. Government agencies and their prime contractors, who are acting on guidance from the Office and Management and Budget (OMB) to be IPv6 capable by June 2008, with an easy solution and convenient site to test networks and products for IPv6 capability. On completion, the IPv6 Test Center will be a fully operational IPv6 test facility; it will provide customers with state-of-the-art IPv6 test equipment supported by engineers who are experienced in IPv6 testing and have the security clearances necessary to assist on both classified and unclassified requirements.
The IPv6 Test Center brings together an unparalleled combination of industry leaders. Spirent Federal brings industry recognized test solutions coupled with experience supporting large-scale government tests and certification programs, deep relationships with government customers and an understanding of the government market for communications test and measurement products and services. Innofone, through its v6 Transition division, is the first public company solely focused on making the IPv6 transition a reality, and as such brings unique IPv6 transition expertise, logistical support and successful experience launching IPv6 training, consulting and implementation support services. The IPv6 Test Center is the only commercial facility to combine the experience, relationships and industry expertise required to create a viable, transition solution for the government market.
"The alliance with v6 Transition fits with our growth strategy of pursuing relationships that give us a further outlet for our proven IPv6 test solutions, and it complements our core business," said Ellen Hall, president of Spirent Federal. "Our goal is for Spirent Federal to be synonymous with government testing. This alliance clearly helps us toward that goal."
