ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Performance Technologies (Nasdaq NM: PTIX), a leading developer of systems, platforms, components and software, today introduced NexusWare™ C7, an SS7 MTP-2 software package for the company’s packet-based network access products. This is the fourth product in the company’s family of NexusWare Linux-based development environments and software modules.
NexusWare C7 is a comprehensive SS7 MTP-2 installable software package designed to work in conjunction with NexusWare Core, the company’s Linux-based development, integration and management environment. NexusWare C7 provides equipment manufacturers and application developers using Performance Technologies' network access products a starting point for building SS7 applications, including those found in next-generation wireless and IP telephony systems.
“The distributed processing architecture of NexusWare C7 provides extensive scalability by allowing SS7 links to be added to existing equipment without compromising performance,” said Steve Wigent, product manager for Performance Technologies. “NexusWare C7 illustrates an evolution within our NexusWare product family as it’s the first installable package for the NexusWare Core environment, allowing customers to seamlessly add, combine and remove software packages to address their specific application requirements.”
Field proven with thousands of active SS7 links, NexusWare C7 includes a well-defined, easy to use application programming interface (API) that allows interoperability with upper level stacks (such as TCAP, ISUP and TUP) from any SS7 software vendor. By using Performance Technologies’ intelligent T1/E1/J1 hardware as the MTP-1 physical interface and NexusWare C7 for the MTP-2 layer, developers can realize higher link density and sustain operation of up to 50 SS7 channels.
The NexusWare family of Linux-based software products enables users of Performance Technologies' Advanced Managed Platforms™ and standalone embedded hardware to rapidly develop and deploy value-added capabilities with their solutions. Other products in this software line include NexusWare ISM, developed for the company’s intelligent shelf managers, and NexusWare MG for Performance Technologies’ media gateway blade solutions.
NexusWare C7 SS7 MTP-2 software solution is available immediately. It is priced below $2500 at OEM quantities.
