ComWest's ComSwitch and ComBill to provide cost-effective alternatives for telecom service providers
March 26, 2002
PHOENIX, Ariz. -- PhoenixSoft, a leading software provider to the telecommunications industry since 1985, today announced the launch of ComWest, an ASP version of the company's core switching and billing products. This new subsidiary is geared toward providers that are seeking the maturity and stability of a PhoenixSoft platform without the expense and training that are typically required for a standalone solution. ComWest's two web-based offerings include ComSwitch and ComBill. ComSwitch is an integrated switching service that supports PSTN and VoIP routing (via SIP-enabled gateways), tandem switching, prepaid and postpaid calling cards, feature group D, and international callback services. This innovative switching service operates on the Lucent Excel programmable switch, ensuring the highest level of stability for ComSwitch customers. ComBill is a comprehensive client/server based convergent billing service that can poll data from any switch that provides CDR. ComBill features automated data collection, processing, reporting, and bill presentment - all via the Internet. "Our industry has undergone significant changes over the last couple of years," says Travis Patterson, director of sales for ComWest. "Technology is improving on almost a daily basis, making it difficult for service providers to stay on top of the latest innovations. To complicate matters, providers are now more cost conscious than ever. The idea of making a significant investment in hardware/software solutions, and the staff to manage them, can be overwhelming. With a ComWest switching or billing solution, a provider can concentrate on the growth of its business, knowing that it is employing the industry's most advanced software solutions and support staff. Should a ComWest customer choose to bring these services in house as business increases, its staff will already be trained on the PhoenixSoft solution, making it a relatively easy transition."
