LAS VEGAS -- Today at NetWorld+Interop 2005, Internap Network Services Corporation (AMEX: IIP), the leading provider of performance-based routing services over the Internet, announces additional features to enhance its Flow Control Platform(TM) (FCP) product line that extend the visibility and control capabilities of the award-winning network optimization platform to organizations of all sizes, including small businesses, enterprises and service providers. The new additions include the FCP 5200, which scales to handle over 6 Gbps of traffic for multi-homed organizations with large-scale traffic needs, and the FlowView(TM) Platform, FVP 120, a simple, yet comprehensive network performance reporting tool that gives organizations the visibility they need to understand end-to-end IP network traffic performance, enforce connectivity Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and report on network performance to all levels of the organization.
"The average IP network typically runs at least 30 percent below its optimal level," said Dave Abrahamson, chief marketing officer and vice president of sales for Internap. "But since organizations don't have the tools to provide visibility into the performance of IP networks, this degradation often gets buried in the day-to-day administrative concerns. That's why the FCP delivers such a powerful advantage. It measures actual end-to-end traffic performance for latency, packet loss, route stability and congestion, then automatically reroutes traffic to provide performance levels for critical applications as necessary." Abrahamson adds, "The FCP 5200 extends this capability to large-scale networks, while the FVP 120 delivers the visibility organizations need to measure their networks and make intelligent management decisions."
The FCP 5200 is designed for customers with substantial or rapidly growing traffic management requirements. It comes standard with 1Gbps of optimization capability and scales to over 6 Gbps of traffic handling capacity. The FCP 5200 delivers all of the benefits of previous FCP models including specific application routing, detailed reporting and intelligent load balancing.
