LONDON -- Intec Telecom Systems today announced a multi-million pound, three-year contract with COLT Telecom Group for its convergent mediation platform, Inter-mediatE™. After an extensive evaluation process, COLT selected the solution for its proven performance and scalability. Inter-mediatE gives COLT the ability to replace the existing mediation platforms currently supporting COLT’s network operations, offering greater flexibility for collecting, processing and distributing network traffic information to COLT’s downstream systems, including billing. The new agreement complements an existing contract between COLT and Intec for InterconnecT™ software, the market leading intercarrier billing solution that successfully operates across COLT’s European networks."This will provide us with the infrastructure for our present and future needs in billing and in launching new products across Europe," said Antony Willis, Head of Service Management at COLT. "Intec not only demonstrated its willingness and flexibility to meet COLT’s requirements, but also the ability to provide the service to support our business."Intec’s award-winning* Inter-mediatE system offers clients a convergent, real-time mediation solution that is compatible with all fixed, wireless, and next generation networks. Inter-mediatE uses an advanced distributed architecture that allows users to gather high volumes of network usage data from anywhere in the network for processing, enhancement and distribution to downstream systems such as billing. Inter-mediatE has over 100 customers around the world, including Telia Sweden, Hutchison 3G and ITXC in the USA.Intec Telecom Systems plcCOLT Telecom Group plc
