Huawei 5G products not hurt by US sanctions – sources

Huawei tputs visit from the Prime Minister of Thailand

SHENZHEN, China -- The Prime Minister of Thailand, Thaksin Shinawatra, visited Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (“Huawei”) headquarters at Shenzhen, China today.
Accompanied by Ms. Yafang Sun, Chairwoman of Huawei, Mr. Thaksin visited Huawei’s exhibition hall and showed great interest in Huawei’s IPTV, 3G technology, broadband, etc., and asked questions about the detail of the function, feature and price of Huawei’s IPTV.
Ms. Sun, also gave a brief introduction about Huawei’s business across the globe. To date, Huawei has business in more than 90 countries and expects 60% of the 2005 sales revenue coming from the international market. Since 1990 when it entered Thailand’s market, Huawei has been growing with Thailand’s telecommunications industry and gradually become a mainstream equipment supplier in the market. In addition, Huawei has established cooperation partnership with Thai leading carriers. Currently, there are over 350 Huawei staff working in Thailand, among which about 80% are locally recruited.
Mr. Thaksin said he was deeply impressed by the campus of Huawei headquarters. “Thailand is presently in the process of modernization construction, and Information and communications technology is regarded as an important part of the process.” he said. He encouraged Huawei to actively participate in and to provide its professional advices to the construction of Thailand’s information and communications technology modernization
At present, Huawei has gained high reputation in Thailand’s telecommunications industry. Its customer satisfaction, brand acceptance and market share have all been in the leading position. In July 2005, Mr. Thaksin awarded “Honorary Investment Advisor” Honor Huawei during the 30th anniversary of relationship building between China and Thailand.
Huawei has always been actively participating in Thailand’s social commonweal activities and charity affairs as a competent Corporate Citizen while developing its business in the market. When the Indian Ocean tsunami happened, Huawei headquarters and it branch office in Thailand donated 500 thousand USD worth emergent telecom equipment and 5 million RMB in cash to the Thai government and charity organizations. A telecom expert team of Huawei was also organized and sent to the disaster region to help restore and re-build the local communications infrastructure.
