FABA Communications selects MERA for comprehensive VOIP traffic routing
March 15, 2005
TORONTO -- MERA Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of world-class session controllers for carriers and VoIP service providers, today announced that FABA Communications, a US-based international telecom operator, has deployed MERA’s MVTS session controller on its network.
FABA Communications, Inc., headquartered in NJ, USA, has chosen MERA Session Controller to power its fast-growing carrier-to-carrier interconnection service. FABA currently serves over 20 international and local carriers and service providers and handles over 1,200,000 minutes of daily VoIP traffic. FABA’s traffic exchange capability is set to grow as the company expands its global presence.
With the deployment of MERA’s MVTS, FABA Communications has obtained a compact yet powerful network management tool that will provide for seamless interworking with partner carriers. Able to behave as a common registering endpoint, a gatekeeper or a gateway with respect to partner networks, the MERA session controller will deliver an always-ready connectivity with any VoIP network regardless of its topology. Furthermore, the MERA session controller will boost significantly the interoperability of FABA’s own multivendor equipment (supplied by Cisco, Quintum, Teles, Voicemaster). Altogether, this sets a solid ground for FABA’S aggressive plans for growth.
The MVTS’s advanced call routing mechanism allows for dynamic switching between available route options for the best ASR (average success rate). Thus, the selection of best-rate routes from a number offered by carriers operating the same destination is made possible. This functionality will serve FABA to provide competitive options and flexible tariff plans for origination and termination of international and long distance calls.
“FABA Communications aims to be one of the global telecom market actors,” says Hasan H. Ertok, Network Development Manager of Faba Communications, “This mission calls for an on-going improvement of our technology to ensure the highest service quality. To be always in good cooperation with our peers we must provide ready interoperability with our partner networks and competitive traffic exchange rates. MERA Session Controller perfectly matches these requirements and will help us serve as a reliable and solid bridge uniting big market players and small-to-medium-size companies into a fully-integrated VoIP environment.”
