STOCKHOLM and LONDON -- Capio the leading private healthcare company in Europe with hospitals, smaller clinics and doctors’ surgeries in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, France, Spain, Portugal and UK, has selected Interoute to provide them with a pan European MPLS based network. Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, TDC Song will connect all Nordic sites to the main site in Stockholm, and Interoute will do the same for all the sites outside the Nordics.

Capio is expanding in Europe through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. The current network of the Capio Group, a patch of interconnections between several local networks, is becoming hard to manage and also cannot deliver the required performance to fulfill the specific requirements of a healthcare company. In order to support the continuous growth in Europe, Capio was looking for a single European provider to support their growth.

Interoute’s MPLS based IP-VPN network offers Capio a flexible solution to add new connections quickly when required in any location across Europe, including Central Europe. With one pan European network supplier in place,, Capio is now able to downsize the number of servers they previously had in place in each local country where they are represented. It will now be possible to handle digital images and other core applications over the newly designed Capio Network. As these applications are critical, Interoute will provide redundant back up links at each site.

‘With the pace Capio is expanding,we felt that Interoute offered us the best solutions for now and the years to come. Interoute responded to our needs and requirements, and are flexible and easy to work with,’ says Lars Andrésaon, IT Director for Capio Group.

Gareth Williams, Interoute’s global sales and marketing president, said ‘Capio has entrusted their European communications to us because we own and operate an extensive pan European MPLS network that offers extremely high performance and connectivity, critical to Capio’s applications. Owning the network also means that we can always offer the best value price,’
