ANAHEIM, Calif. -- OFC2001 -– ARTIS Software, the US network-design company providing modeling and simulation solutions for the automation of broadband network design, today announced a major upgrade to its product Artifex and the first commercial release of the Artifex Networking Toolkit.

Artifex 4.3 represents a significant upgrade to ARTIS Software’s product previous releases.A strong investment has been made to enhance the tool usability, that can now benefit from a more intuitive interface for advanced simulation control, enabling execution of parametric runs and batch simulations.A powerful library browser, allowing users to easily create and install their own proprietary libraries or manage library components by third parties, as well as the included Artifex Networking Toolkit library, is another key-feature of this new Artifex release, providing effective time-saving to all network technology designs.

The Artifex Networking Toolkit 1.0 is a library of models encompassing key communications protocols and architectures that greatly simplifies and accelerates the engineering of new designs assisted by Artifex.Pre-built components "out of the box" are available in the Artifex Networking Toolkit for drag&drop into designs while, at the same time, the open-architecture philosophy underlying the development of the toolkit allows components to be customized to support users' specific requirements. The most diffused protocols like TCP, IP, ETHERNET are included, as well as traffic generators with the most common distribution, like Pareto and Poisson; switching and routing equipment are included too. This first commercial release of the toolkit is jointly distributed with Artifex 4.3.
