New line of silicon avalanche photodiodes feature fast response and high sensitivity
February 19, 2004
HAWTHORNE, Calif. -- UDT Sensors, Inc., a subsidiary of OSI SYSTEMS (Nasdaq: OSIS), has launched a new line of silicon APDs (Avalanche Photodiodes) featuring fast response and high sensitivity. The high internal multiplication of the new devices makes them the ideal solution for optical communications, medical, and military applications where high sensitivity, stability, and high gain bandwidth are crucial.
The new avalanche photodiodes from UDT Sensors have active area diameters from 300 mm to 900 mm and are sensitive from 400nm to 1100nm with a peak responsivity of 850nm. The devices are available in a hermetically sealed TO-46 package with either flat window or micro lens cap. They are ideal for tasks requiring light detection in visible and near infrared ranges, such as laser range finders, bar code readers, optical remote control and high speed photometry applications. UDT’s new silicon avalanche detectors are in production and available for shipping now.
