FOXBORO, Mass. -- Telco Systems, a leader in network edge technology and IP switching platforms, today introduced EdgeLink OTM1000, OC-3 Terminal Multiplexer.

EdgeLink OTM1000 is the first optical SONET edge solution that allows service providers to deliver traditional T1, T3 and Ethernet services over a SONET OC-3 fiber feed via virtual concatenation.

EdgeLink OTM1000 addresses the need for compact and efficient last-mile deliver of voice, data, and Ethernet services. It optically transports an OC-3 to locations where copper cannot reach or where voice and data service delivery needs exceed T1 or T3. EdgeLink OTM1000 is ideal for connection to fiber spurs off a carrier's SONET backbone ADM or in point-to point applications for extension of T1, T3, and Ethernet from a CO or POP.
