BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- While other companies are announcing layoffs and revenue shortfalls, Paragon Networks continues its worldwide expansion with the opening of its newest office in Sao Paolo, Brazil this month. In addition to several installations and application trials of MASTERseries and BROADway equipment in Brazil, Paragon has relationships with three of the key distributors in the Brazil telecommunications market. "Latin America has been a very good market for our backhaul network solutions aimed at the Wireless Service Providers, including those in Brazil," according to Russ Hawkins, Paragon's President and CEO. "We have focused our efforts toward meeting the needs for growth in mobile and fixed wireless services, the move toward wireless data applications, and the rapid expansion of coverage in countries such as Brazil."Celso Perrone, a telecommunications veteran with 26 years of experience in the Brazilian market, has been selected as Managing Director for Brazilian operations. Mr. Perrone and his organization will support local partners such as Telsul, CelTec and Infranav, and current customers such as Telebahia Celular.
