Mitec announced the appointment of Daniel Piergentili as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately

MONTREAL -- The Board of Directors of Mitec Telecom Inc. (TSX: MTM) today announced theappointment of Daniel Piergentili as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. In addition, MitecTelecom intends to file a short form Rights Offering Prospectus.With his appointment, Daniel Piergentili becomes a member of the Mitec Board of Directors. Keith Findlay will stepdown as President and Chief Executive Officer effective immediately and assume a consulting role.
Mr. Piergentili joins Mitec from Ericsson Inc. where he held positions in wireless telecommunication and satellitecommunication (satcom) product development. Most recently, he was Vice-President, Engineering, for Ericsson’sNorth American Wireless Unit responsible for all wireless development centres throughout the United States andCanada. He began his career in 1988 as a System Engineer at General Telephone and Electronics (GTE) in Boston.After holding a series of progressively more senior positions at GTE, he joined Mitec in 1992 as Director ofEngineering and was subsequently promoted to Vice-President responsible for all wireless and satcom businessunits. He left Mitec in 1997 to further his experience at Ericsson. Mr. Piergentili holds a Master of Science inElectrical Engineering from Northeastern University.
