Optical switch startup is up for sale
June 1, 2001
David Duggins and Garry Wilson, partners in Andersen, were today appointed administrators to Ilotron Ltd.
Ilotron Ltd. is a manufacturer of optical wavelength switching and transport solutions. It is headquartered in West Malling, Kent and employs approximately 67 people.
The administrators will immediately undertake a detailed review of the business and seek expressions of interest with a view to selling the business as a going concern.
David Duggins, one of the administrators, said: “Ilotron has successfully developed the first commercially available all-optical wavelength switch. Unfavourable conditions in the telecoms industry have created difficulties in securing second round financing. But we are encouraged by the level of interest expressed to us by industry players.”
